Need Constructive Criticism
« on: March 14, 2010, 02:33:47 am »

I want to kinda hear how well I did on this picture, and see what I could do to improve, since I haven't tried drawing pregnancy before and this was my first attempt.

It's that last submitted image, like 4th entry. I wasn't sure if I should've submitted it here or there since it was for the Art Challenge, yet it was a first time thing.
Currently lurking around.

It's good for your first time.  :3
She does look pregnant, nothing wrong with the her posture/pose, and there are some minor areas need working on [nothing you're most likely aware of already].
Although what is it you're aiming to improve on?

Attempting to do some critique with my tablet, hehe... haven't got it out in ages so bare with me.

Lines are a bit hard to see, sorry... anywho...

Lot of little things here that improve the look... shape of the breasts, working on hands and feet... checking the shape of the hips. I recommend drawing the character with a flat stomach and then working on the belly, makes it easier... Hips seem like they could be a tad wider...

Really rather good overall though, most of the lines I put on were just to widen things or reshape. I recommend looking up some nudes in a similar pose, do some sketches. Really look at the finer details like the arm shapes and what not...

Second image is without the sketch under... the head was hard to see with all my scribbling on it... mostly would want to suggest the head position change... Not sure you wanted the cute head tilt look, but it does come off pretty cute.

Oh and I seem to have buggered up her snout... sorry about that. Out of practice XD Assumingly the nose would be down and over a tad more...

Hope that helps! Looking good tho ;)
